Job description
BHR is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Lead Data Engineer to join our team. As a Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure to support our data-driven initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and solve data-related problems, ensuring that our systems are efficient, secure, and scalable.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to apply your expertise in building data pipelines, optimizing data storage and retrieval systems, and implementing data governance and compliance frameworks. You will also collaborate with data scientists and analysts to build robust data models and provide technical leadership in data engineering best practices.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to identify data requirements and ensure data quality and integrity.
- Optimize data storage and retrieval systems to achieve high performance and scalability.
- Implement data governance and compliance frameworks to ensure data privacy and security.
- Lead the development and implementation of data engineering best practices, coding standards, and tools.
- Manage and mentor a team of data engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and recommend innovative solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, preferably in a leadership role.
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
- Experience with data modeling and ETL frameworks.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift).
- Knowledge of Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive.
- Understanding of data governance, compliance, and security principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) is a plus.
