We are seeking an experienced and skilled Data Scientist to join our team. As a Data Scientist at EXL Service, candidate will play a pivotal role in leveraging data to drive business decisions, build and enhance models, and optimize operational processes within the client's ecosystem. Experience in the insurance sector is a good to have but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis and Modeling:
- Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze large datasets and extract meaningful insights.
- Develop predictive and prescriptive models to solve complex business problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and objectives.
- Data Visualization and Reporting:
- Create clear and informative data visualizations to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Team Leadershipand Client management:
- Ability to manage client relationships independently and lead a team of 3-4 associates
- Data Preprocessing and Cleaning:
- Prepare and clean raw data for analysis, ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Implement data pipelines to automate data collection and processing.
- Feature Engineering:
- Identify and engineer relevant features from structured and unstructured data sources.
- Model Evaluation and Optimization:
- Evaluate model performance and implement improvements to enhance predictive accuracy.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning and data science techniques.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineers, product managers, and business analysts to understand project requirements and deliver actionable insights.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics), Master's or Ph.D. preferred.
- 7-12 years of experience as a Data Scientist in a professional setting.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.
- Strong expertise in machine learning, statistical analysis, and data modeling.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau, Power BI).
- Knowledge of database systems and SQL.
- Familiarity with big data technologies and tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong communication skills to convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
