POSITION NAME: Research assistant (R&D-Cathode ) Responsibilities & Roles Deep understanding of scientific literature on lithium/Na-ion batteries. Carry out cathode materials synthesis and physical characterization. Prepare NMP/water-based cathode slurry mixing with different compositions to enhance lithium-ion cell cyclability, safety, and reliability that meet GODI’s requirements. Work with anode and electrolyte teams internally and externally to bring novel cathode technology to cell production. Assembling coin cells for evaluating the electrochemical performance of a cathode material. Perform electrochemical experiments. Analyze and discuss the results with the team. Failure analysis of material/cell. Skills & Qualification M.Sc/M.Tech in chemistry/Material chemistry with 1-2 years’ experience in electrochemistry or/and materials synthesis. Experience on the wet and dry synthesis methods to prepare cathode materials. Knowledge on solid-state chemistry, surface chemistry, doping and surface modification. Demonstrated experience on cathode slurry mixing explicitly water as solvent, coating, calendaring, and drying. Experience with assembling coin or/and pouch cells is preferable. Understanding of electrochemical techniques such as CC/CV cycling, CV, EIS. Excellent communication skills. Strong attention to detail, documentation, and standard operating procedures. Intermediate experience in Origin/Microsoft Excel. Has a do-whatever-it-takes attitude, thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment, and is capable of meeting goals on time. Ideal Candidate Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work with minimal supervision once given instructions. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. High ethical standards High attention to detail and accuracy COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and write detailed project specifications, reports, procedures, manuals, and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, partners, customers, and other employees of the organization. OTHER SKILLS To perform this job successfully, an individual should have sound knowledge of Internet software, Microsoft product Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
