1. Purpose of the job

To manage R&D activities and day-to-day operations through supervising and management of a team, delivering the innovation/VE and quality programs in Woodcare category required by the South Asia & ASEAN BU Deco business . This Woodcare product category including retails and Professional segment  for India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, VietNam, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand covering 32+ Product Lines and more than 300+ recipes.

2. Key responsibilities

Woodcare lead:

• Leading a team and ensuring execution and delivery of agreed plans, using multiple areas of expertise available.
• Ensuring preparation, testing, developing, analysing and researching elements (e.g. problems, questions, ideas) in own discipline.
• Attracting, leading, coaching, appraising and developing team members.
• Demonstrating and driving safety leadership.
• Driving engagement and managing talent development and succession planning
• Manages the execution of the multi-year plan in own team, safeguards planning and budget of activities in own team and provides input to the development of the year plan.
• Partner within R&D and other departments (like supply chain and/or marketing) to align activities with commercial plans.
• Works with global teams, and suppliers to develop a marketing leading innovation pipeline.

3. Level of autonomy

What decisions may the job holder make independently without seeking approval from higher manager/supervisor?

• Manage operations of teams.
• OPEX expenditure.
• Product Formulation development & implementation.

4. Job requirements

List the essential educational qualifications, relevant experience and required skills.

• 10-12 years of relevant experience with Bachelor’s Degree as minimum
• Excellent Excel, Powerpoint, Power BMI skills.
• Excellent communicator and facilitator.
• Able to manage and influence peers and more senior managers.
