Opportunity
Ensures the timely delivery of import and export containers utilising
preferred or line-approved routings while providing the highest level
of customer satisfaction. Takes the initiative to improve inland
operation processes and implement methods to drive intermodal in
positioning costs down.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures that all store door import/export requirements are maintained to ensure the timely departure of import/export cargo as per service delivery requirements.
- Reports daily store door movements, service failure issues and other challenges to supervisor.
- Improves inland operations processes.
- Monitors and resolves problems to ensure movement of idle containers.
- Tracks and reports potential demurrage.
- Coordinates with trucker, line and terminal operations to ensure movement of containers as planned.
- Maintains data integrity through accurate inputs/updates to all related systems.
- Implements methods and measures to drive intermodal, positioning and storage costs down.
- Recovers equipment, maintenance and repair costs.
- Achieves expected productivity, timelines and quality targets and controls errors.
- Has responsibility for prompt and effective response to emails.
- Identifies process gaps, cost leakages, cost avoidance/saving ideas and suggestions on process improvements.
- Attends process training/refresher to have required skillsets to carry out tasks in an error-free manner.
- Assist in adhoc projects in line with organization focus.
- Provide suggestions to improve efficiencies.
- Participate in internal team meetings and contribute with ideas/suggestions for overall improvement of the operations business unit.
- Internal/External stakeholder management.
Who we are looking for
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Maersk or shipping industry.
- Knowledge of Maersk Intermodal & Landside processes, customer service processes.
- Good knowledge in working with MS Office and SAP BI applications/tools.
- Knowledge and understanding of vendor payments, reconciliation, and related queries.
- General awareness of the practical side of Operations.
- Technical Skills: MS Office tools, SAP BI applications/tools, programs or systems colleague would be responsible for operating, any other assisting software.
- Flexible in terms of business deliverables (spanning from execution activities to reporting etc)
- Ability to support cost/revenue initiatives.
