Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Desktop Support Engineer located in Chennai. The Desktop Support Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support for desktop and laptop hardware, software, and network infrastructure. The role will involve troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing maintenance, and installing and configuring software applications.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Install and configure Hardware, software, networking and computer systems.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues with software or hardware and basic networking issues

Clients through steps to help them resolve their technical problems mails /outlook/Printer

Maintain procedures and reports that provide technical support to the entire organization.

Analyze records and logs to spot underlying trends and potential issues.

Support the implementation of new solutions or applications.

Provide daily support to users of various computer systems including answering questions, analyzing problems, and quickly forming solutions to return systems to proper operation.

Trouble Shooting experience on Mail Client Outlook is MANDATORY

Working knowledge of PC and operating systems and Microsoft Office Applications

Install and maintain hardware, software, and other equipment to meet client requirements, routinely observe operational performance, and install security patches and updates when necessary.

Troubleshooting issues related to standard office softwares (MS Office Word, Xls, PowerPoint etc.) and internet client

Remove virus from respective desktop / laptop with the antivirus software updates.

Basic Qualifications

Experience working with computer hardware for installation and upgrades

Experience working with software installation/upgrading procedures

Experience working with file and system maintenance procedures

Utilizes standard corporate tools to record change and problem activities for tracking purposes

1. Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair computer systems, hardware, and computer peripherals.

2. Document, maintain, upgrade, or replace hardware and software systems.

3. Support and maintain end-user requirements, which includes troubleshooting, account maintenance, and training.

4. Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support.

5. Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.

6. Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance.

7. Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.

8. Conduct regular reviews and maintenance of IT Security Hardware.
