Job description

Profile : Plant Manager - Operations Expert Location - Kenya, East Africa

Responsibilities:

Manage plant operations and personnel to maximize production, safety, and quality. Implement and improve production processes across Induction Furnace, CCM, DRI, & Rolling Mill Ensure maintenance and uptime of plant equipment for optimized performance. Monitor production schedules and costs, implementing cost-saving initiatives. Lead and motivate diverse teams, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency. Manage inventory, procurement, and logistics for smooth operation. Drive continuous improvement through process analysis and data-driven decisions. Liaise with senior management and stakeholders on production performance and challenges.

Qualifications:

Minimum 15 years' experience managing steel production operations in relevant plant environments. Proven expertise in Induction Furnace, CCM, Rolling Mill, and DRI (coal-based) processes. Strong engineering or metallurgical background (B.Sc./B.E. preferred). Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to achieve production targets and improve efficiencies. Experience managing budgets and implementing cost-saving measures. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the steel industry.
