Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Chef at the Masala Library by Jiggs Kalra restaurant located in Mumbai. The Chef will be responsible for the day-to-day preparation of dishes, ensuring a high standard of food quality and presentation, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, and collaborating with the kitchen team to develop new menu items.
Qualifications
- Culinary skills: proficient in preparing and cooking Indian cuisine, knowledgeable in cooking techniques, familiar with a range of ingredients and spices
- Experience: minimum of 5 years working in a fine-dining Indian restaurant
- Leadership skills: ability to manage and train kitchen staff, create work schedules, maintain inventory and stock levels, and oversee kitchen operations
- Attention to detail: ability to create visually appealing dishes with attention to taste, texture, and color
- Creativity: ability to develop new and innovative menu items
- Communication skills: ability to collaborate effectively with the kitchen team and communicate to servers about menu items
- Certification: completed culinary school and received a culinary degree or professional certification in cooking or related field
