We are looking for a safety centric Head of Security to organize and oversee all security operations and emergency preparation & response for our company in partnership with our Impact, People & Culture, Legal, and InfoSec teams. You will collaborate closely with leaders within the organization to understand their business requirements for developing, implementing, and monitoring a strategic, integrated, and comprehensive enterprise Security & Emergency Preparedness program. As the Head of Security, you will be expected to demonstrate excellent surveillance and emergency response skills and will need a strong commitment to security best practices and knowledge of all hazards and threats to safety. And finally, your goal will be to create and preserve an environment where employees, visitors, attendees, partners, and property are safe and well-protected. This position reports to the Office of the CEO. 

Here's what you'll do  

• Develop and implement security & emergency response policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Train staff on security & emergency response policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Build budget and monitor expenses for security operations and related costs.
• Source and supervise third-party security officers and guards.
• Attend meetings with other managers to determine operational needs in support of internal and public facing events.
• Plan, integrate, prepare, and coordinate security operations for specific events with internal teams and external partners.
• Coordinate staff and response teams when responding to emergencies and alarms.
• Be responsible for asset management, including inventory and collection.
• Investigate and report on security incidents & breaches in partnership with Impact, People & Culture, Legal, & InfoSec teams to improve & strengthen overall security operations and security posture.
• Create reports for senior management on security incidents & status.
• Analyze data to form proposals for future improvements (policies, procedures, technologies, training) and required investment.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned.

• Proven leader in emergency response planning and reportingwith experience in preparing for and responding to security & emergency incidents, including but not limited to: 
  • Recognize and analyze potential risks or threats, create recovery and contingency plans in advance of a crisis.
  • Be decisive, direct appropriate response, and manage resources during the crisis.
  • As required, be the liaison to Local, State, and Federal Law Enforcement and Emergency Response authorities.
• High school diploma and 8-10 years as security and/or emergency manager with experience in security administration & emergency preparedness in the areas of Law Enforcement, Military, Emergency Management, or related fields.
• Must be a US Citizen with valid driver’s license and passport.
• Experience in preparing sites in different environments (in buildings, outside, and private & public spaces) and moving equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Experience using relevant technology and equipment.
• Exceptional knowledge of security protocols and procedures.
• Demonstrated management skills, e.g., budget formulation and administration, procedures development and implementation, personnel administration, and staff training.
• Ability to communicate effectively across the organization at all levels.
• Ability to travel as position requires.

AnitaB.org is proud to offer a remote, distributed workplace. Please know we cannot accommodate remote work outside of the United States. The salary range for this position is $161,200 - $178,470, plus competitive benefits, including health insurance and a 403(b) discretionary match.
