Role Description
We are looking for a Junior Research Fellow to work in a Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) Sponsored project to reconstruct the climate-tectonic role northern Bay of Bengal (BoB) sedimentation by analysing the geochemistry and mineralogy of sediments. The candidate must have completed MSc Geology/ Applied Geology/Eath Science/Marine Geology. The candidate must have keen interest in analytical geochemistry / geochemistry research to understand the earth surface processes. The Junior Research Fellow will be responsible for conducting geochemical experiments, data analysis and scientific writing.
Qualifications
- Interest in inorganic geochemistry to study the paleoclimate and paleoceanography.
- Experience in analytical chemistry/mass spectrometry techniques is desirable.
- Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization software
- Ability to work collaboratively in a research team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, and ability to present research findings in scientific conferences
- Master's degree in Geology/Applied Geology/Earth Science/Marine Geology/Geochemistry
- Qualified CSIR JRF/NET
- Experience with scientific writing and publication is a plus
