Job description

Position Overview:

As a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of various structures, components, and materials without causing damage. Your primary responsibility will be to perform inspections using advanced techniques and equipment to detect flaws or irregularities that could compromise the integrity of materials or structures.

Key Responsibilities:

Conducting Inspections: Utilize a variety of NDT methods such as ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), liquid penetrant testing (PT), radiographic testing (RT), and visual testing (VT) to inspect materials, components, and structures.

Interpreting Results: Analyze inspection results and interpret findings to determine the presence, location, and of defects or abnormalities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.

Documentation and Reporting: Document inspection procedures, results, and findings accurately and comprehensively. Prepare detailed reports outlining inspection methodologies, results, and recommendations for corrective action if necessary.

Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate NDT equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability. Perform routine maintenance checks and troubleshoot equipment issues as needed to ensure optimal performance during inspections.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks associated with NDT activities. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards to protect personnel and maintain a safe working environment.

Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance personnel, and other team members to address inspection findings, develop corrective action plans, and implement solutions to enhance the integrity and reliability of materials and structures.

Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on advancements in NDT technologies, techniques, and methodologies. Participate in training programs and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of non-destructive testing.

Qualifications and Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in NDT methods preferred.
Certification from a recognized NDT certification body (e.g., ASNT, PCN) in relevant NDT techniques (e.g., UT, MT, PT, RT).


Proficiency in operating NDT equipment and interpreting inspection results.


Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document and report inspection findings.


Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make sound judgments based on inspection results.


Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.


Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality in all aspects of work.


Willingness to travel to different job sites and work in various environmental conditions.
