Sustainability

Sustainability is at the core of everything we do at Six Senses. As Sustainability Director, I will ensure all directives on environmental protection and preservation, re-usage and minimum wastage, purchasing and packaging such as the abolition of single-use plastic by 2022, social responsibility and all other practices documented in the Sustainability Guidelines are followed in the resort to maintain a harmonious and sensitive approach to our environment and cultural surroundings.

I will be responsible for results in Sustainability and coordinate all Sustainability programs as well as the related training together with HR and the respective departments. As Sustainability Director, I will ensure that each Sustainability initiative be it for host or guest reaches its fullest potential.

I will safeguard the pillar of Sustainability and make sure that all these brand initiatives are fully embraced, adopted and implemented within the resort.

Wellness

I will fully embrace, implement and safeguard the Wellness overall philosophy, concepts and programs such as the Sleep With Six Senses, Eat With Six Senses and Grow With Six Senses platforms.

Operational Ownership

In this role, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation of the Sustainability function to provide ongoing compliance with Sustainability Guidelines and execution of the approved resort-specific Sustainability Action Plan.

will contribute sound strategic advice, share clear opinions and participate fully as a member of the management team.

I will manage the Sustainability Fund on a monthly basis and ensure the funds are collected and distributed in an effective and transparent manner, documenting the projects and initiatives the fund supports.

Developing and maintaining relationships with key community organizations and representatives such as schools, special interest groups, local government departments and tourism associations is an important part of this role. Engagement with the local community on a regular basis will ensure the property is an active and supportive member through Sustainability Fund projects and educational/fun sustainability activities.

I will develop and lead sustainable host events on a monthly basis that are fun, engaging and supportive of a culture of sustainability among the team. In addition, I will connect the resort with globally recognized sustainability events, initiatives, and 'citizen science', such as Earth Day, World Ocean's Day and Global Shoreline Clean-Up for guests and hosts. I manage existing relationships with sustainability-related partners and identify opportunities for enhancing existing or adding new partnerships, as applicable.

I also cultivate strategic partnerships with organizations to receive Sustainability Fund support, and in-kind support from Six Senses hosts, based on guidance around themes and causes from the General Manager and Home Office Sustainability. In conjunction with the Experiences team, I will develop and lead Sustainability-related experiences for guests that highlight the resort's sustainability efforts, the local community/culture, the unique environment and Sustainability Fund projects.

By keeping abreast of industry trends and practices and continually updating my knowledge and skills, I will implement the most suitable sustainability practices for the operation that are relevant and in line with Six Senses policies.

A high standard of personal appearance, grooming and hygiene, plus comprehensive knowledge of safety, security and emergency procedures will be maintained by myself and all hosts under my direction in line with brand and statutory requirements.

Interaction with guests and hosts will be undertaken in a professional, courteous and positive manner and I will proactively seek, document and action guest feedback.

My constant interaction with and provision of support to and communication with other departments on sustainability is intrinsic to the smooth functioning of the operation. I will drive innovation for resource efficiency, encourage fun and quirky repurposing of waste and act as a focal point for ideas and initiatives on sustainability from resort hosts.

I will perform any additional duties given to me by the General Manager and attend meetings as instructed by the General Manager and VP of Sustainability.

Administration

Reporting requirements for the role will be completed accurately, on time and maintained for reference, including the collection of the property's Sustainable Performance Indicators from relevant departments and achievements for the sustainability fund to Home Office Sustainability. Corrective action will be taken immediately when issues are identified, particularly for Sustainability and Quality assessments. The necessary meetings and briefings are to be attended or conducted, as instructed by the General Manager. All communications and documentation will be undertaken as required.

Quality

Six Senses Sustainability guidelines and standard operating procedures will be adopted and followed by all hosts so that our performance benchmarks are maintained and exceeded. Sustainability standards and practices are continually reviewed through my physical presence in all areas on a regular basis, while product maintenance issues are promptly rectified.

All activities within the department will be carried out ethically, honestly and within the parameters of local law.

Marketing and Public Relations

I will share highlights of Sustainability Fund projects and other sustainability-related content with the PR Manager for communication to social and other media outlets plus for inclusion in Six Senses external and internal newsletters. I will also provide guidance to the PR team on their accurate and eloquent description of sustainability elements within the resort, Sustainability Fund projects and strategic partnerships.

Communication of relevant sustainability projects and initiatives and expectations on action and/or support from Home Office Sustainability to resort teams will be undertaken, plus communication of the best practices from other properties shared throughout Six Senses Global Sustainability Team and adaptation and implementation at the resort.

Financial Performance

In this role, I will assist the General Manager in the development of annual CAPEX budgets. I will manage and facilitate spending of sustainability funds and work with partners to quantify impacts resulting from sustainability fund activities, under direction from Home Office Sustainability, such as hours taught, number of children fed, number of trees planted and so on.

Payroll costs will be minimized by maximizing the productivity and efficient scheduling of hosts. The budget will be strictly adhered to and all costs will be continually monitored and controlled to drive profitability, while taking into consideration the preservation of required

standards with every decision made.

People Management

As Sustainability Director, I am responsible for leading all hosts and carrying a culture of sustainability within the property through the provision of direction, delegation, interaction, encouragement and enthusiasm, training and counselling to build a loyal, productive and effective team. I will support each department and my General Manager in achievement of their sustainability goals and implementation of Six Senses Sustainability Guidelines

In this role, I will behave in a professional manner at all times and set an example to all. I will abide by Six Senses principles, core values, best practices, guidelines and objectives, while respecting other cultures and nationalities and projecting a positive and proactive position to help build and maintain a strong, loyal team.

Skills And Experience

To execute the position of Sustainability Director, I confirm that I have a bachelor's degree in Environmental Management, Sustainability, or closely related field. I also have the technical skills and at least four years' experience in a sustainability-related role within hospitality with proven results.

I am a personally involved, visible and proactive host with excellent organizational, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills. I am capable of providing focused direction and continuing to establish the property's prominent sustainability position within the market and am comfortable engaging with a wide range of cultures in diverse locations and settings. I possess sound judgement and professionalism and I can identify priorities and effectively execute tasks and projects in a timely manner. I have the ability to work with all levels of the organization.

I have a solid understanding of the latest trends and techniques in sustainability, plus the ability to successfully implement sustainability initiatives.

Technology skills include advanced MS Office and Outlook platforms, plus I have an excellent command of written and spoken English with some knowledge of the local language and customs.

I will maintain a thorough understanding of Six Senses in terms of guidelines, rules and regulations, operating standards, facilities and services.
