Job description

The purpose of the role is to produce high-quality designs that fully meet the customer’s requirements, and to ensure that they are architecturally compliant. Specifically the role is accountable for:

Delivering Vlocity CPQ (configure, price, quote) designs that meet quality standards, time and cost targets Architecture role – collaborate with other platform architects to ensure that designs are compliant with the CPQ (configure, price, quote)systems roadmap; The role is responsible to ensure that the business requirements are met with optimum solution i.e. without building tech debt on the COTS products in terms of extensions/customisations. Responsible for discovery/POC to understand the business EPICS/Features Responsible for the complete E2E design of Digital Service Fulfillment Journey Responsible for HLD Designs including the integration Patterns with CRM Systems Responsible for owning the technical design for the squads; to ensure that the software solution is up to date. The person in the role should have development/design experience on Vlocity/SalesForce COTS application or similar. Following technical skills will be required Agile Methodology (both KANBAN and Scrum) CPQ (configure, price, quote) functional knowledge. Technical design experience on CPQ (configure, price, quote The key purpose of this role is to take ownership of a part of a DigiCo value stream squad including design, implementation, unit, feasibility testing and component testing, and preparation for solution deployment. The role will work independently with some guidance when needed and can contribute to pairing with other team members. DigiCo Value Streams are focussed around delivering key functions around BSS and OSS functions; this role will fit as individual contributor in one of those squads. The role has to ensure the respective solution’s non-functional, functional and operational requirements have been met as per the design. Contribute as one of the key independent contributor which includes guaranteeing that other members of the team are fully aware of changes being made and have been involved in creating and reviewing the solution. Define, build and manage software environment, introducing new tools and new facilities to test hardware and software.

What I’ll be doing – your accountabilities As a Technical Lead; responsible for all CPQ related work, covering all the products and Service areas : Usage Products Data Products Systems rationalisation – migration of functionality from legacy hardware and software onto the strategic Service platforms, VAT – ensuring that all Service changes are fully compliant with current VAT legislation Use of HaaS for exposing Service data to other platforms Bill formatting Data feeds to finance, revenue assurance and fraud systems Setting architectural direction for the squad team, working with the Chief Portfolio Architect and Chief Service Architect in B&P Creating ACFs for all designs impacting Service Ensuring appropriate use of SACS and BEX for all designs Preparing Rapid Impact Assessment for Adhoc Business Requirements General Technical lead responsibilities : Ensuring that RIAs and VROMs are completed promptly and accurately as required, and STORM is kept up-to-date Providing Service design consultancy to BTW customers, TSO delivery and test leads, CE Leads, E2E solution designers Review and approval of all Service designs Provide design support to ASG, and design consultancy to our BTW customers and users, as required Supports the design and development of discreet solutions in line with wider architecture and security standards, demonstrating basic understanding of how solution impacts the wider Technology roadmap. Identifies and solves routine problems with components designed, performs deep dive data analysis, potentially introducing new components or features to resolve issues. Conducts technical peer reviews within the organisation or with suppliers to ensure outputs align to quality standards and customer requirements. Designs and develops components of smaller and /o less complex projects in partnership with team, ensuring and documenting the quality of delivery. Contributes technical and analytical knowledge where needed to support managers, principals or technical experts to resolve issues during projects.

Skills required for the job Recognised expertise in Product configuration within the BT organisation. Knowledge of Bill Formatting, VAT Compliance, Financial and fraud reporting, Service systems migration and integration, GDPR requirements Requires an in-depth understanding of how own expertise contributes to the objectives of the business, backed by a very good working knowledge of the industry. Applies knowledge/skills through handling complex problems and/or co-ordinating work which may extend beyond own area of expertise. Anticipates client needs, investigates the underlying causes and identifies short and long term solutions. Anticipates internal/external business issues and developments in own discipline. Generates new and innovative solutions to complex problems. Develops plans for work activities in own area over the medium/long term. Supports strategic planning activities. You should be an expert devOps Engineer in your area of development expertise. · Give Specialised Advice: You offer advice and recommendations based on your expertise both proactively and on request. Technology Experience : Expert across Product Configuration tools like Vlocity CPQ: Service Module. Agile Collabration Tools. Non Functional testing tools like JIRA, Confluence etc. Java development Platform. Integration pattenrs. Experience in leading design for digico projects Functional Exposure: It will be mandatory have prior exposure to BSS/OSS Engines. Software Development:

You should be able to develop expert level code within the boundary of the COTS (Component out of Shelf) SDK’s as appropriate. Functional Exposure:

It will be desirable if you have prior experience of development in one or more of the following functional areas: OSS Assurance:

Network Fault and Performance Management Service Problem Management:

Incident Journey, Change Journey and Problem Journey. COTS Exposure:

Prior Development Experience in the following COTS tools or similar tools will be beneficial: Vlocity CPQ, and Other Salesforce CPQ tools

Stakeholders include: Senior Technical Manager – Digico Fulfilment Enterprise Architects Business Operations Team DigiCo proposition teams DigiCo leadership team

Experience you would be expected to have

Experience with Vlocity CPQ – MANDATORY Salesforce Certification– MANDATORY Experience and knowledge of BT Global Assurance stack – MANDATORY · Able to confidently deal with ambiguity of requirements, especially in complex/ critical areas – PREFERABLE · Experience and knowledge of the Agile methodologies · Ability to work with customers, to understand their needs, to influence and lead the business proactively by delivering requirements that drive out business benefits – MANDATORY · Ability to drive re-use at all levels, and to ensure solutions provided are transforming the business and the Service platform in line with agreed roadmaps – MANDATORY
