Data Analyst
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Data Analyst to join our team. The Junior Data Analyst will be responsible for capturing metadata from pipeline construction records, including as-built drawings, bills of materials (BOM), material test reports (MTRs), purchase orders (POs), invoices, weld maps, and other related documents. The primary focus of this role is to review and extract relevant information from these records, input the data into a standardized template in MS Excel, perform logical data checks, and carry out post-processing tasks such as document renaming, format conversion, data itemization, production tracking, reporting, data conditioning, and delivery in the client's preferred format.
Responsibilities:
- Review pipeline construction records, including as-built drawings, bills of materials (BOM), material test reports (MTRs), purchase orders (POs), invoices, weld maps, and other relevant documents.
- Capture metadata from the records by extracting key information and inputting it into a standardized template in MS Excel.
- Perform logical data checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of the captured metadata.
- Conduct post-processing tasks on the data, including renaming files, converting document formats, and itemizing input data.
- Track production progress by monitoring and recording the status of data capture and processing tasks.
- Generate reports summarizing the data capture and post-processing activities, including any issues or discrepancies identified.
- Conduct data conditioning activities to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with client requirements.
- Collaborate with team members and project stakeholders to address any data-related queries or issues.
- Deliver the finalized data in the client's preferred format, ensuring timely and accurate submission.
- Stay updated on industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies related to data management and analysis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Pipeline Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum of 1.5 years) in data analysis, data management, or a similar role is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel, including advanced functions such as data validation, filtering, VLOOKUP, and Pivot tables.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills to review and capture metadata accurately.
- Solid understanding of data quality principles and the ability to perform logical data checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Familiarity with pipeline construction records, including as-built drawings, BOMs, MTRs, POs, invoices, weld maps, and related documentation is advantageous.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and project stakeholders.
- Proficiency in post-processing tasks such as file renaming, format conversion, data itemization, and production tracking is a plus.
- Familiarity with reporting tools and data visualization techniques is beneficial.
