Remuneration Range: $38.59 - $44.84 per hour (dependent on skills and experience)

About The Role

The position of Youth Ministry Officer reports to the Catholic Education New Evangelisation Project Officer and will assist in animating the Religious Life of the Catholic School by supporting and developing student ministry initiatives and assisting in the development of youth faith formation and catechesis.

The Youth Ministry Officer will support the development, implementation and growth of the Catholic Schools Youth Ministry Australia (CSYMA) Youth Ministry model within the Catholic school. The Youth Ministry Officer will assist the teacher in supporting religious education curriculum in classrooms.

Selection Criteria

  • Sound understanding of and ability to articulate the Church's mission in Catholic education.
  • Understanding of the Catholic Schools Youth Ministry Australia or other school/ curriculum-based youth ministry formation programs.
  • Good knowledge, and personal commitment to, the Catholic Church and its teachings.
  • Sound organisation and administration skills.
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and be responsible and accountable for own work.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Compliance with relevant federal and state legislation (including child protection laws) and educational guidelines/ directives.
