Consilium Recruit are proudly supporting a leading global engineering service provider who are working in partnership with some of the world’s most influential names in the Aerospace, Defence, Automotive, Tech, Energy, Healthcare, Medical Devices, Rail and Semi-Conductor industries.


We are seeking a number of Systems Engineers to join the team in support of one the world’s most innovative Defence manufacturers on a permanent or contract basis with a hybrid working pattern of 3 days a week on site in the Manchester area.

The Role


The Systems Engineer will be responsible for systems thinking, systems design and systems safety.


Key responsibilities include:

Complete work packages to pick up & deliver for the projects assigned.

Producing Artefacts in relation to the work package.

Reviewing customer User Requirements Documents.

Interpretating & documenting customer requirements.

Identifying configuration solutions.

Developing system solutions to achieve requirements.

Breaking down Hardware, Software requirements, to product the appropriate level (product building block, building block assembly and or building block).

Create solutions individually or take accountability in leading teams to create system solutions.

 

The Person


The Systems Engineer must possess the drive and discipline to operate on a hybrid basis with a 3-day week based on site. You will have a good understanding of the development lifecycle and product lifecycle (Breathe of knowledge within the complete V lifecycle) and will have the ability to identify risks and opportunities.

The successful individual will be self-driven and is capable of working as part of a team but also on their own with minimal supervision. You must be able to demonstrate experience of driving requirements from URD’s into sub-system allocation.





Experience Required for the Systems Engineer:

Educated to Degree level in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

Experienced and proven in the derivation of requirements.

Able to manage requirements through DOORS.

Knowledge of submarines, SONAR or Defence Maritime would be highly advantageous but not essential.

Breathe of knowledge within the complete V lifecycle.

DOORS experience or equivalent software.
