Location: India Technical Centre Hinjewadi, Pune.
Job Overview We are seeking a highly dedicated Product Architect, Should have p roficient in Solid fundamentals in geometry for plastic parts, experience in OEM interactions, and delivering cost-effective solutions.
Key Technical Competence - Must possess international experience, with autonomy in design focused on bonding, painting, and moulding.
- Deep understanding of vehicle front and rear-end architectures.. Proficient in navigating automotive regulations related to Intelligent Exterior System product lines. Solid fundamentals in geometry for plastic parts, experience in OEM interactions, and delivering cost-effective solutions.
- Proficient in Catia V5 and familiar with PLM tools
- Fluent in English.
Key Behavioural Competencies - Demonstrated experience in both hierarchical and functional management.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and promote a cross-functional mindset among teams.
Main Tasks / Missions - Manage the technical content during the acquisition phase effectively.
- Provide essential EPM technical support during the product development phase.
- Actively participate in the deployment of Product Lines Best Practices.
KPI And/or Main Deliverables - Responsible for the creation and delivery of acquisition technical documents and the execution of OPTIMAP work packages.
Candidate Profile - A bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering.
- 12+ years of professional experience with a minimum of 7 years dedicated to product design and concept development specifically in automotive exteriors.
- Experience in a Design Leader or Engineering Project Manager role, navigating through expertise, development, and tuning phases.
- Preference for candidates with at least 5 years at Plastic Omnium or similar
Experience - Demonstrated experience in leading automotive exterior projects, from conception to execution.
- Proven capability in handling complex design challenges and leading teams through various project phases.
- Familiarity with the operational and strategic aspects of product development in the automotive sector.
- Collaborate with the innovation department to define and meet product specifications. Lead innovation activities locally.
- Handle both OEM and internal technical interfaces during the acquisition phase.
- Gather and analyze customer needs, setting technical assumptions based on industry standards.
- Identify competitive product challenges and coordinate technical inputs from expertise fields.
- Offer technical support to EPM, aiding in technical decision-making and addressing major issues.
- Ensure a seamless transition of project data to the designated project team at the G1 milestone.
- Provide ongoing technical support during the production phase, focusing on productivity, optimization, and knowledge capitalization.
- Define design standards for products, incorporating new technologies to enhance functionality, add value, and support modularization.
- Work towards improving product competitiveness through innovative solution
