Job description
SQL - In addition to the basic MIS/Sr. MIS Analyst Skills mentioned :
1. Advanced SQL Querying:
A deep understanding of SQL is essential, including complex query writing, subqueries, window functions (ROW_NUMBER, RANK, LAG, LEAD, and NTILE), common table expressions (CTEs), and advanced join operations.
2. Advanced Analytics and Statistical Functions:
Knowledge of advanced analytics functions in SQL, such as statistical aggregations, time series analysis, and regression analysis, is important. Should be able to apply statistical techniques to explore data patterns and draw meaningful conclusions.
Exmples of Statistical Functions : STDDEV (standard deviation), VAR (variance), CORR (correlation)
3. Data Manipulation and Transformation:
As a BA, they should be able to manipulate and transform data to derive insights. This includes advanced data manipulation operations, such as pivoting, unpivoting, conditional logic, data cleansing, and data standardization.
4. Performance Optimization:
Should be able to analyze query execution plans, identify performance bottlenecks, and propose optimizations, such as indexing strategies and query tuning, to enhance overall system performance.
Excel/Sheet - In addition to the basic MIS/Sr. MIS Analyst Skills mentioned :
1. Data Cleaning and Preparation:
Should be able to use functions like CONCATENATE, TRIM, SUBSTITUTE, and CLEAN to clean and format data. Apply text-to-columns and conditional formatting techniques to organize and standardize data.
2. Advanced Formulas and Functions
Understand array formulas, nested functions, and logical operators to perform advanced calculations and data manipulations.
3. PivotTables and PivotCharts:
Combine multiple data fields, apply filters, and create calculated fields to generate insightful reports. Use PivotCharts to visually represent data trends and patterns.
4. Macros and Automation (Good to have) :
Automate repetitive tasks using macros. Record macros to perform a series of actions and assign them to buttons or keyboard shortcuts. Use appscripts to automate mundane tasks
