Hiring for Fit and Finish Component Design Engineer

Responsibilities - Conceptualization and Design:
- Develop CAD from A-surface to the final product based on styling, engineering, and project requirements.
- CAD Modelling:
- Design and engineer exterior and interior components, ensuring aesthetic appeal and functionality.
- Utilize CAD software (Creo is preferred) to create high quality 3D models and drawings of fit and finish components.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and manufacturing constraints.
- Knowledge in DFMEA/DFS/DFM/DFA and GDamp;T.
- Material Selection:
- Evaluate and select appropriate plastic materials considering mechanical properties, durability, and cost.
- Collaborate with material suppliers to stay updated on new developments and technologies.
- Design Analysis:
- Conduct feasibility studies, considering manufacturing processes, materials, and cost implications.
- Conduct a basic-level simulation for fit and finish parts to ensure performance and safety requirements.
- Optimize designs for manufacturability and cost efficiency.
- Prototyping and Testing:
- Work closely with prototyping teams to create physical prototypes for design validation.
- Knowledge in various types of rapid prototype methods.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, providing updates on design progress and addressing feedback.
- Collaborate with tooling and manufacturing teams to ensure a smooth transition from design to production.
- Technical Documentation:
- Create and maintain detailed technical design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and design analysis reports.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies related to fit and finish components.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Entry to mid-level experience in motorcycle or automotive component design.
- Proficiency in CAD software (Creo or similar).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and design principles.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Passion for motorcycles and knowledge of the motorcycle industry.
