Job description
Role Summary The Application – DBA ensures the performance, integrity and security of a database. Plans capacity and installs and commissions new applications. Develops and troubleshoots the database. Ensures the security of the data and retrieval of the same (disaster recovery) in an emergency situation. Collaborates with IT project managers, database programmers and web developers to ensure that the database of the system is under control and maintainable.
Role Description • Develops SQL Script tasks for Administration and maintenance plans. • Installs and configures MS SQL Server, System Administration. • Optimizes Production Servers to achieve better performance, accessibility and efficiency • Implements Database wide security • Manages the development of database requirement definitions, functional specification, data dictionaries and test plans • Transfers Data using BCP, Bulk Insert, and Data Transformation Services (DTS) Packages • Takes Back Up and Restores System and user databases using Tools for Monitoring and Tuning SQL Server Performance like execution plan, SQL Profiler, Index Tuning Wizards • Participates in feature design reviews to ensure that performance issues have been considered. • Performs core design and architecture/scalability/migration of SQL Server database designed for web based products, Data Modeling, Advanced T-SQL Programming, Query and Stored Procedure Development, Performance Monitoring etc Experience Experience in MS SQL Server 2000 for not less than 4 years. Experience in data modeling using ERWIN, Visio etc, E-R Analysis, Capacity Planning, Volumetric Analysis, Optimization of Queries, Advanced T-SQL Programming, Query and Stored Procedure Development, Performance Monitoring, Back-up and restore replication, MTS,MSDTC. Extensive experience in using tools like DTS, Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler, Query Analyzer, job scheduling, maintenance plan and documentation.Job tags
