Job description
We are looking for the position of Hazard communication specialist with a Chemical manufacturing MNC in Bangalore.
Qualification: B Pharm Graduate/ Any chemical graduate
Experience: 5-8 years
Location: Bangalore
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and labels ensuring compliance with regional regulatory requirements.
- Manage material introduction, classifications, and labeling including dangerous goods classifications with SME inputs.
- Initiate Notification of Change (NOC) processes and respond to routine customer inquiries.
- Interact with global customers, suppliers, and functions for hazard communication and regulatory compliance needs.
- Drive projects related to SDS creation and maintenance.
- Provide regulatory approval in material master workflow for product processes and ensure compliance.
Data Management and Reporting:
- Contribute to SAP data management and integrity, participate in Management of Change (MOC) processes.
- Establish and report metrics for compliance and business growth.
- Support broader team reporting and continuous process improvement.
Additional Support and Development:
- Assist in supporting Product Stewardship and Regional Business needs.
- Foster teamwork and ensure timely, accurate creation and maintenance of SDS and labels.
- Develop streamlined processes for compliance, business continuity, and documentation.
- Proactively communicate changes with global teams and maintain EHS SAP data.
Professional Development and Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related fields.
- 5+ years in chemical/petrochemical industries with 3+ years in Product Stewardship and Regulatory Compliance.
- SDS authoring experience with a good understanding of GHS and regional regulations.
- Ability to define requirements and implement relevant processes and tools.
- Strong communication, computer literacy, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
- SAP EHS experience, knowledge of Dangerous Goods Regulations (IATA preferred).
- Troubleshooting skills for issue resolution and Continuous Improvement/Project Management expertise.
