About Our Client non-profit organization dedicated to improving road safety and emergency medical care in India. Their mission is to save lives by reducing road traffic fatalities and providing timely medical assistance to crash victims. Job Description Key Responsibilities:
Financial Control and Accounting:
Ensure highest standards of accounting as per India GAAP.
Implement financial control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including FCRA and income tax.
Regularly review financial processes to identify and address compliance risks and inefficiencies.
Closely monitor cashflows and AP/AR to bring efficiencies in overall operations.
Develop processes and procedures that enhance speed and efficiency of financial operations to ensure negligible disruption to organisation employees and programmes.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and present accurate financial statements, reports, and forecasts to the senior management and Board. 2
Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial and fiduciary reports to regulatory authorities as required.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Lead the annual budgeting process for the organisation as well as specific programmes, working closely with department heads to develop realistic and comprehensive budgets.
Monitor actual financial performance against budgets and provide variance analysis with recommendations.
Audit Management:
Coordinate and manage annual statutory audits, internal audits and donor/external audits ensuring timely completion including redressal of audit recommendations.
Maintain a robust internal control environment to safeguard the organization's assets.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Stay updated on changes in FCRA, income tax, and other relevant laws and regulations.
Implement and oversee risk management strategies to mitigate financial and operational risks.
Maintain close oversight and provide leadership when needed to legal and fiduciary matters.
Team Leadership:
Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, cooperation, mutual respect, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with other departments to enhance financial awareness and accountability throughout the organization.
Actively problem-solve issues with suppliers, employees, team members
The Successful Applicant
Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; high preference for MBA/CA/CPA.
Minimum of 12 years of progressive financial management experience, including leadership roles.
Strong expertise in India GAAP, FCRA, income tax, and other regulatory compliance matters.
Experience in the non-profit sector and knowledge of grant management is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office suite
