Ensure that codes are assigned in compliance with industry standards and government regulations, such as HIPAA and CMS guidelines.
Maintain a deep understanding of cardiology-specific coding guidelines and updates in the field to ensure compliance with the latest regulations.
Conduct regular audits to identify coding errors and discrepancies and take corrective actions to rectify any issues to minimize risks and maintain compliance.
Maintain accurate and organized records of codes assigned and claims processed.
Generate reports and analytics related to cardiology coding and reimbursement.
Requirements
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credential.
Strong knowledge of cardiology-specific coding guidelines and regulations.
Proficiency in ICD-10 and CPT coding.
Familiarity with EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems and medical billing software.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
