Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda is the Greenfield Aluminium smelter of Vedanta Limited. It is India’s largest single-location Aluminium smelter and the only Indian smelter in the global ‘1 Million Tonne Club’ of primary Aluminium producers. With an installed smelting capacity of 1.75 MTPA, the company currently produces more than a third of India’s and nearly 2% of global primary Aluminium. The Jharsuguda operations comprises has two smelters – 0.5 MTPA and 1.25 MTPA (SEZ) – and two power plants with a combined capacity of 3615 MW.
As our Stores and Spares Head, you will be completely hands-on to provide strategic and operational leadership to the procurement management functions of VL-J thus ensuring that bought out spares, consumables etc. are procured in a cost effective and timely manner to achieve production targets and to maintain optimum inventory levels. Responsibilities Procurement of Spares & consumables for MRP Items (Smelter, CPP) Identification and consolidation of procurement/ Transaction Reduction Ensure to reduce manual intervention in Procurement Ensure for maximum application of Reverse Auction Regular monitoring of New Vendors and reviewing procedures Inventory Management - Running and ensuring effective management of the MRP process Ensuring subordinate development by guiding the team of buyers to perform efficiently Development of skill matrix and identification of gaps for Subordinates Desired Attributes Bachelor's degree, MBA will be preferred. 12-16 years of experience in Supply Chain Management in a large manufacturing company Thorough knowledge of Supply Chain Management Excellent Communication Skills Female leaders are encouraged to apply.Job tags
