Job description
The requirement is for a DC hosting architect with a strong background in data center physical design and infrastructure to join our team. As the Data Center Hosting Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the physical infrastructure of our data center, translating the electrical, cooling requirements of our compute, storage, and networking equipment to hosting design for data center/data room. You will be responsible for assessing and evaluating site survey results, design from suppliers for the physical hosting design and estimates thru the project for various sites.. At the outset, DC hosting architect must plan for racking, cabling, space, power, cooling, temperate, UPS and its related design. The role has to review the compute, storage and networking equipment power and cooling requirements and translate into hosting requirements.. Roles and Responsibilities :- Design and implement physical infrastructure for data center hosting solutions, to support compute, storage, and networking equipment, based on the ratings provided by the OEMs. - Work closely with internal teams, our suppliers to evaluate power and cooling requirements, and translate these requirements into a physical hosting design that is optimal for our equipment.. - Collaborate with internal teams, our suppliers to ensure timely delivery of hosting solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations..- Ensure that the data center environment is maintained to industry-standard specifications for temperature, humidity, and power covering the green and sustainability requirement. - Develop and document procedural guidelines for the configuration and installation of data center equipment.. - Maintain up-to-date records of all equipment and other assets within the data center.. - Actively keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices for data center infrastructure..- Optimize existing data center environment for power and cooling efficiency.. - Continuously monitor performance and utilization of data center infrastructure..- Research and recommend new and emerging technologies to constantly improve data center performance.. Qualifications :- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a similar technical discipline. - 10+ years of experience as a data center architect or equivalent role.. - Experience in architecting and delivering data center hosting solutions..- Strong knowledge of data center and data room infrastructure, including space, power, cooling, temperature, and UPS for global locations and is aware of their standards. - Familiarity with compute, storage, and networking equipment and their power and cooling requirements.. - Experience working with different vendors/designers to develop reliable and customized solutions.. - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment..- Excellent verbal and written communication skills..- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
