Qualification / Skills Requirements:
- Should have minimum 8 years of experience working with SQL Server PROD environment.
- Minimum two years administering MS SQL Server version 2012 or later.
- Administration of databases over 500GB
- Strong knowledge of data backup, recovery, and security
- SQL server on Virtual Machines
- SQL Profiler and/or Extended Events
- Monitoring Microsoft SQL servers and troubleshooting issues.
- Creating SQL and PowerShell scripts to automate common tasks.
- Daily administrative tasks such as monitoring alerts, backups, and system resources.
- Implementing security requests
- Monitoring growth and capacity planning
- Entering and managing support tickets with vendors
- Creating backup and maintenance jobs
- Performance tuning queries
- Baselining MS SQL Servers
- Index maintenance
- Applying OS patches and SQL Server updates
- Creates and maintains documentation or user s guides for each database.
- Intermediate knowledge of networking
- Intermediate knowledge of Windows Server
- Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid technical aptitude and understanding, including the ability to quickly learn new technology updates.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines under sometimes stressful conditions.

- Following required skill sets add value to the profile of the candidate considered for this requirement, PowerShell, Failover Clustering, Availability Groups, SSAS/SSIS administration and Azure.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities include but are not limited to providing excellence in customer service support, diagnosis, replication, resolving SQL Server Technical issues of simple, complex, and critical service requests. The focus of this position is to provide Customer Service on SQL server technical issues and to ultimately drive complete and total resolution of each issue reported by Itron employees and users of SQL Server environment.
As SQL Server Support Professional (DBA), you will perform maintenance of SQL server environment but not limited to the following:
- Responding to functional assistance incidents from the business users, problem analysis and change implementation.
- Provide Route Cause Analysis (RCA) to the recurring problems and resolution.
- Ability to debug the system for issues reported and provide clarity/work around to business users on the fix / gap identified.
- Contribute to building knowledge base for issue resolution and commonly asked questions/issues.
- Build automation and scripts to proactively identify issues, job failures and resolving those.
- Monitor and build dashboard of jobs, scripts that run regularly.
- Support data replication from PROD to PRE-PROD and UAT environment.
- Provide timely and effective reporting/updates on status of work being done for Incidents, Service Requests and change implementation.
- Working with the super users to resolve all issues for the reported incidents. Research the issues on Microsoft support site, and open SR for critical issues.
- Work in different shift timings.
Education : BE, BTech, MCA MBA, MCom or equivalent from recognized University. Other qualifications with adequate experience may be considered.
