Job Title : Chef

Responsible to:  Management Team

Responsibility for:  Kitchen and work experience trainees

Hours: Full Time

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the edobo Cafe & kitchen. 

• Preparing high quality meals for customers from the menu and ensuring food is served in good time and well presented
• Creating a core team for edobo caf and kitchen
• Motivating and inspiring them to prepare, cook and serve high quality food
• Helping to organise weekly staff rotas, evaluate work schedules on a daily basis and distribute key tasks to kitchen staff.
• Working alongside the Front of House Supervisor to ensure good working relationships are maintained between kitchen and table waiting staff, within a fast-paced and pressurised environment
• Working with the management team to develop menus using fresh, good quality and healthy ingredients for the caf including meal ideas for special events & assisting with menu pricing
• Overseeing the preparation of food ensuring they match menu specifications and meet the quality standard and presentation
• Adhering to Food Safety Standards, maintaining high levels of cleanliness in the kitchen at all times we expect to maintain a 5* Hygiene rating at all times
• Keeping accurate records, including food hygiene records according to regulators guidance, staff timesheets etc, and provide performance reports as required by the management team 
• Supporting and training young people in kitchen-based work experience encouraging them to gain skills and work-based qualifications to improve their employability
• Developing supplier networks and ensure a good reputation for using high quality, locally sourced ingredients & controlling stock levels, monitoring wastage and ensuring that waste is kept to an absolute minimum. 
• Monitor and purchase food and supplies
• Any other duties proportionate with the role as required by management

Qualifications/Knowledge:

A proven track record of working as a chef in a quality catering environment

A relevant industry recognised qualification and certificates

Chef with at least 3-years experience

Broad knowledge of different types of foods and their preparations.
