Job Summary: As a Commis 1 or Commis 2 at Aubree, you will play a vital role in supporting the culinary team in the preparation and presentation of high-quality, eggless culinary creations. Under the guidance of experienced chefs, you will assist in various kitchen tasks and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced culinary environment. Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and cutting. Follow recipes and portion sizes accurately to maintain consistency in food quality. 2. Cooking Assistance: Support the Chef de Partie and other senior kitchen staff in cooking and assembling dishes. Learn and apply basic cooking techniques under supervision. 3. Kitchen Organization: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workstations, equipment, and utensils. Assist in inventory management by keeping track of ingredient stocks and notifying supervisors of shortages. 4. Quality Assurance: Assist in conducting quality checks on ingredients and finished dishes to ensure they meet Aubree's standards. Follow food safety and sanitation protocols at all times. 5. Learning and Development: Learn from experienced chefs and actively seek opportunities to improve culinary skills and knowledge. Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance culinary proficiency. Qualifications: Previous experience in a kitchen environment preferred but not required. Passion for food and eagerness to learn and grow in the culinary field. Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions effectively. Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices is advantageous. Culinary education or certification is a plus for Commis 1 position.
