As a Senior Podiatry Assistant in Endocrinology, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized foot care and assistance to patients with endocrine-related conditions, such as diabetes
You will work closely with the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive podiatry services, educate patients on foot care, and promote overall health and well-being
Responsibilities:
Assist in the assessment and management of patients with endocrine-related foot conditions, primarily focusing on diabetes-related foot care
Conduct foot examinations and assessments, including checking for foot ulcers, infections, and circulatory issues
Assist in the development and implementation of personalized care plans for patients, considering their specific foot care needs, medical history, and treatment goals
Provide routine foot care treatments, such as nail trimming, callus and corn removal, and wound care, following appropriate protocols and hygiene standards
Educate patients on proper foot care techniques, self-monitoring practices, and preventive measures to reduce the risk of foot complications associated with diabetes or other endocrine disorders
Collaborate with the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals, to ensure integrated and coordinated care for patients
Assist in diabetic foot screenings, identifying patients at high risk of foot complications and referring them for further evaluation or specialized care
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and interventions, adhering to regulatory and departmental guidelines
