Hybrid Working
Structured hybrid role:
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, 'anchor', days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Introduction:
. Support the delivery of the climate reporting content within our high profile Environmental, Social and Governance report, Annual Report, EU Taxonomy Report and other relevant external disclosures
. Support regulatory reporting related the ESG disclosures
. Provide accurate and validated climate related metrics, including Client Carbon Intensity metrics, Green Lending & Financing metrics including volumes, balances and revenues, and risk measures such as climate-related exposure and stress test results. This team will also be responsible for managing Barclays carbon accounting strategy and reporting for Scope 3 financed emissions.
. Provide accurate and insightful input to assist climate-related decision making processes through Monthly Business Reviews, working with CFO Business Partnering teams
. Work closely with the Business team to build and report performance against Sustainable financing products
. Collaborate with the Sustainability and ESG team as subject matter experts in climate disclosure requirements, including review against industry best practice and evolving standards such as the recommendations of the Taskforce for Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) and EU Taxonomy
. Partner with Functional teams to develop and drive process automation and improvements.
. Working with internal audit / external assurance providers to ensure robustness of reporting processes and controls.
. Map the existing data lineage, process and controls. Recommend and implement enhancements and maintain control environment in line with the firm's Standards.
What will you be doing
. Support the delivery of Climate Reporting, analysis, sourcing, validation and assurance processes for Barclays businesses
. Contribute to enhancement of the Climate Reporting processes, specifically enhancing controls, automating and contributing to definition and development of Climate Metrics
. Develop knowledge of Front Office booking systems, to understand the data lineage between revenue reporting systems and Risk and Finance books and records, to ensure successful capture and validation of Green Finance metrics
. Support reviews of business performance to drive progress towards external Climate commitments and support decision-making at the most senior level, to ExCo and Board
. Contribute to longer-term programme to automate Climate Reporting into wider Finance and Risk systems infrastructure
. Establish a strong control environment in the team and enable appropriate escalation
. Prepare financial reporting and management information for use with a range of stakeholders
What we're looking for:
o Qualified accountant. Or Management Post Graduate from premier institute
o Strong university degree/academics
Skills that will help you in the role:
o Financial reporting or financial control experience, preferably for both Group and business
o Good understanding of financial reporting, accountancy and analytics
o Commercial knowledge of banking industry
o Appreciation of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) topics and an ability to work closely with ESG subject matter experts in Group Sustainability
