Job Purpose
We, at Jet2 (UK's third largest airline and second largest tour operator), have set up a state-of-the-art Technology and Innovation Centre in Pune, India. We are looking for a
Senior Test Engineer ( Manual) with outstanding track record in the field of software testing. The successful candidate would be an expert in software testing and will need to carry out all the tasks with minimal supervision.
The senior test engineer will be responsible for testing critical products within Business Apps. The candidate will report into the Team Lead and will ensure timely and quality delivery of projects. This is very much a hands-on role to test the system by designing, writing, updating test cases/scripts and performing test runs. He/She will liaise with the UK colleagues throughout the test life cycle on day to day basis.
Automation of tests remains a long-term goal so any exposure to automation and the ability to learn and use these technologies would be desirable.
Responsibilities - Proactive involvement in each phase of Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC)
- Responsible for creating robust Functional and non-functional testcases, test plans, test scenarios and test data.
- Good in analyzing requirements, providing estimations, designing, and executing Functional, Systems Integration and Regression test cases, reporting bugs and providing detail insights to various stakeholders through detail reporting.
- Responsible for thorough testing of all the assigned tasks/user stories, achieving own targets and supporting other team members in achieving overall team's commitment.
- Evaluate the functional and non-functional requirements for testability and use suitable cases for automation.
- Identify regression testing needs and create and maintain a regression suite.
- Accountable for making sure all the objectives of testing are achieved before delivering the product.
- Work closely with your colleagues in the UK, actively participate in earlier phases of the scrum and propose a plan of action to achieve the desired outcome.
- Actively involve in Release process and support in Pre prod and production release
- Participate in troubleshooting and drive root cause analysis and resolution.
Essential Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of hands-on end to end web application testing
- Prior experience of working with UK or other regions such as North America/EMEA/APAC
- Experience in Web Application Testing, System Integration Testing, API Testing using Portman and Release Support
- Hands on experience in test cases designing, Test Data preparation and defect reporting
- Good understanding of database querying using SQL Server
- Good analysis and troubleshooting skills
- Experience in projects executed in Agile Scrum model
- Excellent verbal and written and verbal communication skills
- Working experience of Agile/SCRUM/Kanban methodologies
- ISTQB Certified
Nice To Have - Prior experience with Microsoft Test Manager, TFS / VSTS is a plus
- Exposure to Azure devops
- Prior experience of BDD automation
- Prior experience in Performance testing
