Job description
Methode Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: MEI) is seeking Engineers to be a part of Optical design team to work on Optical design and simulation, R&D activities for Automotive applications. Assist with strategic growth initiatives and the establishment of optical engineering within Methode.
Responsible for Optical design and simulation, R&D activities. Job details Education : MSc or equivalent in Physics (Specialization in optics) / BE or MTech with experience in design and simulation of optical components Qualifications, Job Knowledge, Skills, Exp-JD 5+ years Illumination Optical Design (non-imaging) experience; LED experience highly preferred Expertise in optical physics Must have Lucid Shape or similar optical design software experience. Knowledge or hands on experience in using 3D CAD (CATIA/ Creo /UG NX/ Solid works). Working experience with industry-standard numerical tools used in optical physics modeling. Materials science (especially polymers and glass) and optical materials Ability to coordinate and work on numerous projects simultaneously. Sound knowledge on LEDs and its selection based on customer requirement and statutory regulations. Experience in optical reflector and projector system design including special coatings and imaging systems for ADB. Knowledge on color shifts, filters, polarized films, in-mold stress on lens. Hands-on experience on products with backlighting, mood lighting, ambient lighting, daytime running lights etc. Expertise in Automotive as well as non-automotive domain lighting Knowhow on transmitted and reflected colors and industry standards to quantify the same. Glass surface texture design and coating design for optimal light extraction, anti-reflective/ anti-glare properties Should be able to differentiate colors and have passed Farnsworth Munsell 100 Hue Test Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work as a team player. Must be a proactive and solution-oriented problem solver Key Responsibilities As an Optical Engineer for the company, you will be responsible for developing innovative lighting systems for a variety of vehicles, including Automotive, Commercial Vehicles, Motorcycles, Recreational Vehicles, and Light Rail. You will work with incandescent, HID, and LED light sources to create cutting-edge exterior and interior lighting concepts.Job tags
