Job description

For our Industrial Robotics Group, we are seeking a Robotics tech Lead with 5-8 years of experience in designing remote control systems for industrial robots (with potential use of AR/VR and haptic design). The successful candidate will be responsible for hands-on design and leading a team of engineers to develop robotics applications for industrial applications. The candidate will work closely with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure that the systems meet the projects objectives. Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement control algorithms and software for robot teleoperation and telepresence.
2. Lead the design and development of advanced remote control systems for industrial robots
3. Deploy the Robotics software appropriately on the device, edge, and cloud.
4. Conduct experiments and analysis to optimize robot performance and user experience, including sensor calibration, system integration, and testing.
5. Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to meet project objectives.
6. Stay up-to-date with advances in robotics technology and evaluate new components and systems for potential use in future projects.
7. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
8. Manage project timelines, deliverables, and budgets.
9. Work with project managers to identify and mitigate project risks.

Requirements:

1. Masters /PhD in a related field.
2. At least 5 years of experience in designing remote control systems for industrial robots (experience in AR/VR and haptic design desirable).
3. Strong programming skills in C++, Python, and ROS
4. Software engineering skills of Version Control, Testing and CI/CD
5. Experience with robotic hardware and software systems, including sensors, actuators, and control systems.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
9. Demonstrated leadership and mentorship skills.
10. Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing project requirements.
