We are looking for an experienced Senior MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our SaaS platform team. As a Senior MySQL DBA, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing our database infrastructure to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain database solutions that meet the evolving needs of our SaaS platform.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of MySQL database solutions for our SaaS platform.
Oversee the performance tuning and optimization of database systems to ensure maximum efficiency and scalability.
Develop and enforce database security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data.
Manage database backups, replication, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure high availability and data integrity.
Collaborate with software engineers and architects to optimize database schema designs, SQL queries, and data access patterns.
Monitor database health and performance metrics, and proactively identify and resolve issues to minimize downtime.
Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, and patching activities with minimal impact on production environments.
Automate routine database administration tasks to improve operational efficiency and reliability.
Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in database management and SaaS platforms, and evaluate their potential impact on our infrastructure.
Provide guidance on best practices for database administration in a SaaS environment.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Minimum 8 years of experience as a MySQL Database Administrator, preferably in a SaaS or cloud-based environment.
In-depth knowledge of MySQL database architecture, internals, and best practices.
Expertise in performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting of MySQL databases.
Hands-on experience with database security, backup and recovery, replication, and high availability solutions.
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) for automation of database administration tasks.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale MySQL database environments in a production setting.
Relevant certifications such as MySQL DBA certification or AWS/Azure database certifications are a plus.
