ARTISANS', Kala Ghoda, Mumbai is looking for a Gallery Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, entrepreneurial and enthusiastic individual to work closely with the Director and Gallery Manager to make a real impact on the business of promoting art, craft and design and to be part of a small busy team. The post is full time, including Saturday and occasional evening work.

Responsibilities: 1. Oversee the operations and supervise our staff at the gallery and shop: As the Gallery Manager, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of both the gallery and shop. This involves managing and guiding the staff, addressing their needs, and creating a positive and efficient work environment. You'll be the point person for any operational issues that may arise and will work towards their resolution. This includes ensuring gallery facilities such as multimedia, lighting, and air conditioning are functioning well and coordinating with service providers when necessary. 2. Artist and Vendor Relations: Maintaining relations with artists and vendors, which you'll share with the Inventory Manager. This includes engaging with our artists, artisans and vendors, managing contracts, and coordinating with the accounts team to ensure payments are processed promptly. 3. Catalog and Archive Exhibitions: This responsibility entails procuring detailed documentation from our artisans and artists of artworks, artists' backgrounds, and contextual information for the production of both physical and digital exhibition catalogs. You will also be responsible for maintaining our archive of exhibitions and events online and offline for the gallery’s records. 4. Coordinate the commercial and marketing aspect of the gallery and its exhibits: You'll be involved in brainstorming and coordinating marketing efforts, including social media campaigns, promotional events, and collaborations with local artists and communities. 5. Supervise the installation and removal of exhibits and items from the shop: When new exhibits are set up or items are added to the shop's inventory, your role includes overseeing the installation process to ensure that everything is displayed effectively. Conversely, during the removal of exhibits or changes to the shop's inventory, you'll supervise these processes to guarantee the safe handling and storage of artworks and products.

Qualifications ● A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 3 years of work experience. ● Excellent written and spoken English skills, with a keen eye for detail. ● Ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely for broad understanding. ● Proficiency with navigating Google Workspace and remote working technology, particularly Google Docs and Google Sheets, and the Google Suite. ● Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication abilities, while embracing the gallery's culture and values. ● Enjoy engaging with people and fostering positive interactions. ● Organizational skills, a systematic approach, and team management capabilities, with a proven track record of resource management and timely deliverables. ● Proactive leadership and accountability for decisions, effectively juggling multiple projects simultaneously.
