The Archer Payroll Advisor is primarily responsible for processing India payroll, and may also provide support processing additional APJ payroll (including Japan, Australia, Korea) and/or provide backup support for the payroll team for other global payroll processing.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Ensures payroll is processed with speed and accuracy – ensuring appropriate calculations of wages, tax withholdings and company deductions.
  • Serves as liaison to team members and with third party payroll vendors to ensure payroll processing accurately reflects company specific pay policies. Audits team member pay records, and reconciles totals by department, location, country, etc.
  • Interprets pay policies, (e.g., vacation, LOA, disability, workers compensation, union contracts, government regulations, withholding exemptions, etc.) and ensures appropriate amounts/deductions are calculated and applied to the various accounts correctly.
  • Verifies compliance with federal and state payroll requirements and stays current with changes in the law. Documents payroll processes and procedures.
  • Ensures all processes and procedures meet government requirements. May prepare statistical reports on team member pay, commissions and bonuses, vacation, sick, disability and other associated leaves, taxes and withholdings.
  • May assist with audits of internal records, workers compensation, tax filings, related document. Regular Responsibilities: Works on payroll problems of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Exercises good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Works under limited direction.
  • Determines and develops approach to payroll solutions. Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met.
  • Assumes responsibility to improve payroll operations, efficiency and quality of work. Other duties as assigned.
  • Key Skills Required:
  • Strong knowledge of job associated database/software/documentation. Solid interpersonal skills – ability to interact with colleagues and provide clear, understandable explanations for payroll concerns and reconciliations.
  • Solid communication skills and ability to collaborate cross functionally. Detail oriented. Sense of urgency with a focus on quality.
