Role And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues with shipboard workstations and applications such as Crew Compass, Ocean Now, Xi Access, etc.
  • Handle daily activities in the Data Center and ensure the integrity of backup systems and perform scheduled disk backups.
  • Provide support for user-related Lotus Notes mail administration.
  • Assist with level 2 support for all other IT issues through incident tickets to shore-side IT support.
  • Assist the IT Officer with time-sensitive tasks such as embarkation pre-call checklist and ensuring readiness of embarkation kit.
  • Responsible for the transport and security of embarkation computer equipment.
  • Work with UNIX, network communication in LAN or WAN environment, Hewlett Packard LaserJet printers, imaging operating systems, server operating systems, and server backup software.
  • Set up ship-to-shore connectivity during turnaround days, including setting up tablets with Navigator App for embarking passengers and assisting check-in staff with the operation of the Embarkation application.
  • Monitor and maintain ship-to-shore connectivity through various methods such as fix mimosa or cable form.
  • Handle Vision line software tasks, including creating new keys, programming door locks, and maintaining the status of guest stateroom door panels.
  • Enthusiastically participate in job-related training sessions.
  • Train end-users in the Internet Cafe project.
  • Set up and provide basic end-user troubleshooting and desktop support for Windows, Linux, and Mac systems.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in IT support or a related field.
  • Strong technical knowledge of troubleshooting workstations, applications, network communication, and server operations.
  • Experience with Lotus Notes mail administration and support.
  • Ability to handle time-sensitive tasks and work under pressure.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical certification in relevant areas is a plus.
