Job description
The Context / Purpose of the Job The role is responsible for different machining activities at Machine Shop as per approved production plan. He is required to suggest mechanism and processes to maximize capacity utilization of resources. Ensure adherence to quality, environment standards. He will be required to co-ordinate with Production Engineering Department (PED) and ensure Standard Activity Hour (SAH) generation. He should monitor and maintain his department cost as per budget. He is required to ensure safety and health of personnel engaged in the shop floor and plan and execute their training programme. Job responsibilities a. Overall objective of the role 1. Ensure safety of personnel deployed in the team by adhering to Safety guidelines. 2. Execute job as per plan and agreed time lines within approved budget. Evaluate possibilities to improve process and implement. 3. Improving productivity and SAH by effective utilization of available resources. Ensure to meet pre-decided quality parameters. Also work for improving quality standard. 4. Ensure compliance of SOPs, Positive Isolation adherence to improve safety at shopfloor. Also review and revise SOPs as per need. 5. Maintain records of equipment / gadgets in use and arrange for timely maintenance. 6. Develop plan for capability development of team and arrange for training. 7. Drive TQM initiatives in the section. Ensure participation in SIP, Kaizen etc. 8. Implement necessary actions to ensure Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) excellence initiatives across all respective Areas to achieve zero Fatality and limit LTI within the target. Ensure safety requirements like SOPs, Positive isolation, adherence. 9. Ensure compliance of applicable statutory provisions b. Major tasks & responsibilities 1. Loading of jobs on machines as per plan and Ensuring right parameters running on machines 2. In process inspection. 3. Maintain zero delay due to tools and accessories by Arranging beforehand tool boxes, inserts, accessories and measuring instruments on machine. 4. Ensure no damage to machines and its tools accessories. 5. Movement of the jobs after operation completion to next work station along with complete documents on real time basis. 6. Ensure daily reporting on Losses, rework, SAH compliance 7. Ensure Safety, House keeping and 5S in section, Involvement in improvement activities generate ideas and implement with action plan.
