Job Description Your Role To deliver tactical automated solutions across the Investment Services Service Delivery department at Invesco. Working collaboratively with colleagues to design, implement and deploy efficient and time sensitive solutions; monitor and track the Return on Investment of each solution and establish processes to collate feedback, support and improve where appropriate. Also, to act as a champion for automation across both IS and the wider organisation, aiding colleagues where appropriate, while maintaining the highest standards of service for Invesco's institutional and retail clients and contribute towards delivering a superior investment experience.
You Will Be Responsible For:
- Translating technical requirements and any existing process documentation into well-designed automation solutions that have repeatability, consistency and accuracy in mind
- Analysis of existing business processes and technical workflows to construct solutions that minimise, or eliminate manual interactions with the process
- Using structured problem solving to address any inefficiency or friction points within existing operational processes
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business to address automation challenges efficiently and effectively
- Accurately estimate time and resource requirements for solution development, and phase solutions appropriately.
- Establishing monitoring of automation solutions to track the return on investment of each solution
- Crafting clear documentation on how to setup and execute the solutions
- Providing training and continual education on tools and techniques uses within the automation team to colleagues across the business.
The Experience You Bring:
- Relevant experience within the financial services industry commensurate with the seniority of the role.
- Demonstrable track record of delivering automation solutions, dealing with senior internal stakeholders and influencers and building significant working relationships.
- Training and presenting skills
- Willingness to mentor junior members of the team
Technical skills to include:
- Extensive knowledge of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and its use in an automation environment
- Extensive knowledge of at least one high-level general purpose programming environment and its application to automations, e.g.: Python or AutoHotkey (AHK)
- Extensive experience of delivering tactical automations or a significant desire to apply knowledge and experience within an automation environment.
- Beneficial: Powershell / Scripting
- Beneficial: Invesco systems knowledge (Salesforce / Appian)
- Beneficial: RPA platform experience (Automation Anywhere, UiPath, Blue Prism)
- Beneficial: Knowledge / experience of regulatory reporting solutions / technologies, e.g.: UnaVista / Kaizen.
Knowledge
- Experience of automation of tactical workflows within a financial services industry and advantage.
- Automation development and business analysis background.
- Ability to grasp business processes and technical issues and construct solutions that minimise, or eliminate manual interactions with the process
- Ability to communicate complex solutions in a simple and concise manner to stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent collaborative relationship building
Qualifications
- Strong academic background ideally educated to degree level
- Willing to study for relevant industry examinations.
- Appropriate technical / analysis qualifications.
