The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.
Design Tool Installation packages. Packages to include Title page setup, General detail, Architectural layouts, General Routing, and Details.
- Title page setup:
- Coordination on all discipline pages date, dev, customer Tool/Title, team members updates.
- General detail page creation:
- Incorporate Supplier provided details/component and IE blocks requiring dimensioning.
- Create custom details as required or ensure latest client details are in the design packages.
- Generate Routing plan:
- Create detailed Fab routing plan for utility coordination to the equipment.
- Develop Architectural plans:
- Create Fab level/Sub-fab level partial plans. Plus, Xref support of mechanical, electrical and structural routing as required.
- Creation of Architectural elevations with supporting details and notes.
- Locate equipment, position in drawing and provide dimensions, call out standard details as required.
- Designer / Engineer / Team Lead will coordinate work with local designers / engineers.
- Designer will answer RFI’s and update drawings for Record Drawings.
- Perform all appropriate Lisp routines for package setup.
- Coordinate needs and develop an understanding with other design disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Structural) for design package needs.
- May create a first of a kind design using supplier information.
- Ensure quality control by complying with team design Drafting and CAD standards.
- The Design Engineer / Designer will perform design as well as coach and develop other designers locally.
- Full-time Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum two (2) years to five (5) years related designer experience with former employer(s).
- Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD 2D for drafting, spooling for process piping, Navisworks for Model review and Coordination, mechanical equipment modelling in Revit for process piping industry and design applications required.
- Should be able to work for four hours during the late evening to coordinate with the international offices.
