About Our Client Our client is a new generation innovation company that works with active molecules sourced from plant materials to create a new global platform of scientifically proven products relating to its vision. Their areas comprise neuro degenerative diseases, human lung health, lipid related disorders, drug delivery mechanisms, and many more. Job Description Reporting to the MD of the organisation, your primary responsibilities would include the following:
You will be responsible for a diverse and complex portfolio of alliances, comprising of large, multinational pharma partners, with multiple ongoing projects per partnership
Operate as the main point of contact for all license agreement negotiations and amendment of existing agreements, always ensuring that consistency of terms and conditions for each voluntary license is maintained . Manage contractual compliance for all existing voluntary licensees and MPP with the aim to optimize the value of each voluntary license for Gilead and that we remain the partner of choice.
Management of effective cadence for external and internal engagement- progress reviews, understanding of barriers, unmet needs and opportunities are understood.
Provide insight of emerging trends in voluntary licensing and collaborate with IP, Legal, Government and Public Affairs and other senior level stakeholders on an ad hoc and often times, urgent basis for information to support a variety of complex matters related to IP, Compulsory licensing, public reputation, impact of our efforts, etc.
Manage a broad portfolio of partnerships at all stages of their lifecycle with a focus on mutual value creation.
Identify, understand, and ensure that mechanisms are in place for the governance of partnerships (e.g. on partnership strategy, program prioritization, operating model, processes, etc.)
The Successful Applicant
Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience (of which 2 can be from MBA or PhD, or 1 can be from a Masters)
About 7 years of Commercial experience, of which at least 5 are as a pharma or biotech alliance manager or partner relationship manager.
Drug development knowledge with good understanding of other functions relevant to the position
Applied know-how of key alliance management principles including how to understand/apply contract language, escalate/mitigate issues, and demonstrate creative problem-solving.
Strong interpersonal skills and business acumen, excellence in building and managing relationships, ability to understand all perspectives, find common ground, and effectively bridge significant differences.
Strong problem-solving, leadership, negotiation, advocacy, and influence skills
Ability to operate on both strategic and tactical levels and to flex as needed in a fast-paced environment.
High integrity with respect to the maintenance of proprietary and confidential information
A self-starter, driven mentality, taking personal ownership and initiative, with the ability to navigate through ambiguity, exhibit resourcefulness and provide prioritization and focus.
Existing knowledge in the pharma industry of managing customer/CMO relationships would be an advantage.
