Overview

Waters are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Operations Specialist (Paralegal) /Administrative support professional to join our team. This role is responsible for the execution of prescribed tasks to support the efficient and effective delivery of legal services to the legal department, company, and to third party partners. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of legal processes, and a continuous improvement mindset.

This position will be located in Bangalore at our Global Capability Center.

Responsibilities

  • General Accountabilities
    • Deliver legal services in adherence with defined processes in the fields of electronic billing, docket management, and routine contract management.
    • Develop and maintain strong and effective relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of legal services against business needs.
    • Support the legal department's objectives through execution of assigned legal operations tasks and reporting.
  • Electronic Billing
    • Work effectively with members of the legal department to create and update electronic billing matters in accordance with defined legal department procedure(s).
    • Collaborate with external law firms, third party vendors, and members of the company's finance department to ensure accurate and timely submission of and payment of legal department bills.
    • Review and verify electronic bills for compliance with company policy, defined billing guidelines, and legal department policies.
    • Address discrepancies, resolve billing issues, and communicate effectively with both internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset
    • Partner with legal department colleagues to develop and deploy processes and workflows to improve the efficiency of the legal department, including the administration and management of routine commercial contracts, compliance matters, corporate governance, and intellectual property matters.

Qualifications

  • Any Bachelor's Degree or equivalent ( A law degree is not necessary to carry out this role.)
  • 3- 5 years experience in handling administrative support tasks.
  • Proven ability to efficiently and effectively execute legal operations tasks in support of a global legal department.
  • Proven ability to work cross–functionally and cross-border to manage complex operational matters and provide advice to senior management.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to maintain strong working relationships.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to effectively work and make decisions within defined procedures.
  • Operates with integrity, transparency and humility.
  • Acts as a true company owner to advance the overall interests of Waters.
  • Accountability for the timely and successful execution of legal operations tasks.
