Role Description
As an Outlet Chef you are responsible for the smooth operation of the outlet kitchen with emphasis on quality, presentation within the guidelines of the standardized menus, and employee training and head up our significant restaurant, whereby your role will include key responsibilities such as:
- Preparation of daily menus based on the SOP and ensuring food quality and tastes remains the same.
- Supervise the Outlet Kitchen in the preparation and presentation of all food items in accordance with the SOPs and standardized menu guidelines.
- Plan duty schedules for kitchen staff and ensure sufficient staff at all times whilst minimizing labor costs.
- Order food and other supplies for the outlet.
- Prepare, check and taste all batches of food prepared, ensuring consistency in taste, quantity, color, temperature and presentation of food.
- Take note of customer feedback, channeling it to the Area Chef or Assistant Area Chef.
- On a daily basis, organize staff stations, mise and prepare work to be carried out by various staff.
- Train and guide new kitchen staff on preparing menu items
- Control food cost by ensuring that wastage is minimized during food preparation.
- Ensure that kitchen staff consistently maintain a high standard of food and personal hygiene.
- Ensure kitchen staff adhere to strict kitchen cleanliness.
- Any other tasks as and when assigned by Management.
Requirements:
- Minimum experience of 3-4 years in the kitchen, with a basic level of education.
- Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook
- Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g. grillers and pasta makers)
- Sound knowledge of Indian and Pan-Asian cuisine.
- Leadership skills, team player.
- Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks
- Excellent time management abilities
- Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
- Familiarity with sanitation regulations
- Ready to travel anywhere (North India States)
