Job Summary:
The job description of a Manufacturing Head for an automotive company is critical to ensure the efficient and effective production of electric vehicles. This role involves overseeing various aspects of the manufacturing process and team management. The Manufacturing Head for Automotive Company is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the manufacturing operations for electric two-wheel and three-wheel vehicles. This role involves managing production processes, ensuring manufacturing with product quality, and optimizing manufacturing efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning and Scheduling :
• Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet production targets and delivery deadlines.
• Ensure the efficient utilization of resources, including manpower, machinery, and materials.
Mfg Quality Control: • Implement and oversee strict quality control measures to ensure the production of high-quality electric vehicles.
• Develop and maintain quality assurance standards and procedures.
• Work closely with Plant Quality Head as peers.
Process Optimization: • Continuously improve manufacturing processes and techniques to enhance efficiency and reduce production costs.
• Implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to eliminate waste and improve process flow.
Team Management: • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of production supervisors, engineers, and line workers.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Resource Management: • Manage the allocation of resources, including labour, equipment, and materials, to optimize production.
• Ensure the maintenance and reliability of manufacturing equipment.
Compliance and Safety: • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements in the production facility.
• Promote and enforce a culture of safety and responsibility among the manufacturing team.
Cost Control: • Monitor and control manufacturing costs to achieve budgetary targets while maintaining product quality.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process efficiency improvements.
Close Co-ordination with Supply Chain Management (SCM): • Collaborate with SCM Team for giving timely and advance inputs for daily, weekly & monthly production requirements.
• Give a regular feedback to SCM and Quality team for Supplier Part Quality Issues if any and support for the Quality issue resolution.
New Product Introduction (NPI): • Coordinate with product development teams to successfully launch new electric vehicle models into production.
• Ensure smooth NPI processes and timely ramp-up of production.
Continuous Improvement: • Foster a culture of continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing department.
• Identify and implement innovative technologies and methodologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering.
• Proven experience in manufacturing management in the EV 2W / 3W Automotive Industry and EV Manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of EV manufacturing processes, knowledge/awareness in EV Systems & Technology, and relevant industry standards.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in process improvement methodologies, such as Lean and Six Sigma.
• Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
• Experience with NPI processes and project management.
• Knowledge in Industrial Engineering for Manufacturing process Efficiency improvement.
