Job description
The IT Development Specialist focuses upon the development of applications / products in line with the technology roadmap and standards.The IT Development Specialist delivers development of programme logic for new applications / products or analysis and modification of logic in existing applications (activities may also include elements of technical testing). Typically reports to the Senior IT Development Manager of the Head of Technology.

Description- We are looking for a java developer responsible for the back-end application development using Java with Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL.
The candidate's primary focus will be to implement back-end applications. Overall knowledge of designing and building an application to run on a scalable platform is expected. Building a product is a highly collaborative effort, and as such, a strong team player with a commitment to perfection is required. Maintenance of the central database and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.
Responsibilities -
. 5+ years of Java development experience with complex, large scale, applications using the following technologies is required: Java/JEE, HTML, PostgreSQL,, JSP
. 5+ years of experience with Web Services, Struts, Spring, and Hibernate/OpenJPA, REST
. Implement and maintain PostgreSQL database code in the form of stored procedures, scripts, queries, views, triggers, etc.
. Strong knowledge of Spring Boot framework, a good understanding of REST API principles and best practices.
. Experience with Container (Docker) and Container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
. Design and development experience building a reusable REST API model/framework to consume data from and/or push data into PostgreSQL (or MongoDB, Redis)
. Design and maintain PostgreSQL, Redis instances.
. Plan procedures for backup in case of a data loss.
. Prepare necessary documentation.
. Optimize performance issues.
. Automate routine DB operations with scripting.
. Execute DB upgrades on time.
. Added advantage for Databases like - MongoDB, Redis, skills & Docker.

o Services:- SQS, Secret Manager, Cloud Front, Load Balancing, VPC, RDS, Ingress controller, Elastic cache, ECR
o Kubernetes: Cluster Creation, PODS, Kubernetes workflows & template, Service Configuration
