Responsibilities:
- Preparing Beverages: Skillfully prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by taking orders, answering questions, and offering recommendations on beverages and food items.
- Espresso Machine Operation: Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee-making equipment to ensure the quality of beverages.
- Cash Handling: Handle cash transactions and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately. Process payments and provide change to customers.
- Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the coffee preparation area, equipment, and dining area clean and well-maintained. Follow health and safety guidelines.
- Stocking and Inventory: Monitor and restock coffee beans, syrups, and other supplies as needed. Keep track of inventory levels and report shortages.
- Menu Knowledge: Have a thorough understanding of the menu, including different coffee blends, brewing methods, and specialty drinks. Be able to explain menu items to customers.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members, such as kitchen staff and servers, to ensure efficient and smooth operations.
- Up-selling: Suggest and promote additional items, such as pastries, snacks, or specialty drinks, to enhance the customer experience and increase sales.
- Adherence to Policies: Follow company policies, procedures, and standards for quality and service. Adhere to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Customer Service Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to provide friendly and efficient customer service.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to pay attention to details, especially in preparing beverages to meet quality standards.
- Stamina: Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift and carry supplies, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Multi-tasking: Ability to handle multiple orders simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a busy setting.
- Knowledge of Coffee: Basic knowledge of different coffee types, brewing methods, and flavor profiles.
