Job description
RAIN is seeking a Sustainability Manager to execute its sustainability strategy in India with a focus on improving the sustainability performance. The role will be a part of RAIN's global Corporate Sustainability team. The ideal candidate will be well-informed about best practices in sustainability and have an excellent track record of supporting various sustainable projects and initiatives—ideally in the manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities
- Implement sustainability strategies, policies, and programs that align with business goals and values
- Report to the Corporate Sustainability management and work closely with the cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement and drive sustainable practices across the organization
- Oversee the measurement, reporting, and verification of sustainability performance, including energy efficiency, water conservation, renewable energy, GHG emissions reduction, waste reduction, and other aspects
- Conduct assessments, audits, verifications, validations, and trainings on sustainability and environmental standards
- Stay up-to-date with emerging climate change topics as well as sustainability trends, technologies and best practices
Requirements
- B.Tech in Environmental Science and Engineering, or related field
- At least 4-8 years of experience in environment or sustainability-related projects and initiatives, preferably in the manufacturing industry
- Strong knowledge of sustainability principles and practices, including environmental management (ISO 14001), energy management (ISO 50001), water management, greenhouse gas (GHG) management, waste management and circular economy
- Prior experience in conducting environmental or sustainability assessments and audits
- Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks, such as Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate successfully with teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree (M.Tech, MSc, MBA, or others) in a related field
- Familiarity with one or more of the following: CII GreenCo rating system, ISO 14064 (greenhouse gases), ISO 20400 (Sustainable Procurement), ISO 46001 (water efficiency management systems), and SA8000
