Reporting to : Head both Workshop & CEO Qualification: Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering Job Summary: Responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and supervising the day-to-day activities of the Workshop Section, controlling the quality and timeliness of repairs, annual PMS evaluation, implementation of HSEQ standards, and performance appraisal of subordinates. Roles & Responsibilities: Hands-on supervision of all workshop activities, especially technical issues. Performs trouble shooting and diagnostics procedure on vehicles and equipment. Record observations and findings during while diagnostics run and decide on the appropriate corrective method of repairs. Leads a group of at least 25 mechanics and helpers within workshop and other sites. Performs trouble shooting and diagnostics procedure on vehicles and equipment. Ensure that service warranties are not compromised and properly followed up, monitored, and documented. Plan Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules, organize resources (Materials, manpower and machine) and delegate specific tasks to appropriate mechanics and maintain appropriate records of the same. Forecast and order spare parts for specific jobs/special job or for stocks replenishment. Supervise and follow up on actual progress of each individual repair job. Provide on-the-job training as well as coaching and mentoring to mechanics and helpers. Follow up repair order, registering the time taken to complete each task and down time of the equipment thereof. Responsible for supporting other customer department with respect to service, reliability and dependability by providing satisfactory service for the smooth running of customer department. Evaluate the training requirements of the department subordinates and discuss/agree training needs with the management and arrange for appropriate skill acquisition. Attend the Departmental Meeting. Responsible for the implementation of 5S and other HSEQ standard within the workshop area. Test and approve operators for truck, excavator, loaders, cranes, grader, backhoe, etc. Conduct final check/test driving for all vehicles/trucks prior to release. Assists with the Interviewing and conducts hands-on testing of technical auto mechanics and auto electricians. Conduct annual performance appraisal of all direct subordinates. Signs and approves employee timesheets. Support and full comply with Company and Departmental policies and procedures. Conduct any other task given to him by his superior. Candidate Profile: The applicant is to have a minimum of 5 years’ experience leading a multi- cultural workshop team, preferably in busy workshop. Must have prior experience of managing similar workshop / Agro Implements. Vehicles & Equipment includes : Tractors - Sonalika & Landini, Trucks, Car, Agro Implements, Motor cycle, Excavator - Escort & Hyundai and Grader - CAT and other earthmoving equipment.
