The opportunity

The position is responsible for providing application development services or technical support, typically in a defined project. Expected to apply good practice software development lifecycle actions (code, test, debug, and documentation) to develop program logic or analyze and modify existing application logic in support of business requirements.

How You'll Spend Your Day

  • Collaborates with management, end users, and business analysts to refine requirements and system specifications
  • Develops clean, and efficient code that adheres to established standards and conventions
  • Designs algorithms to solve complex problems
  • Triages issues that occur in production systems
  • Develops solutions to complex bugs, and performance issues
  • Maintains and develops DevOps infrastructure
  • Develops technical documentation, including system specifications, diagrams and flow charts of work to be done, or already done by themselves or others
  • Participates in and leads discussions and development of plans to perform process and system improvements
  • Performs code reviews and ensures that established standards and conventions are met
  • Develops automated unit, integration, functional and regression tests
  • Performs manual regression testing when necessary
  • Works with Quality Assurance Analysts to design and refine tests
  • Works with minimal guidance

Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience
  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
  • Experienced with ancillary technologies necessary for Internet applications: TCP/IP, POP/SMTP, etc.
  • Working knowledge of object-oriented design
  • Good understanding of Web Services protocols such as REST, SOAP and API design for extensibility and portability
  • Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies
  • Java/JEE, Spring, JSON, XML, REST, Distributed System, RDBMS, SQL, Design Patterns, JavaScript, React

Skill/ Knowledge/ Ability

  • High level proficiency with technologies used for website enablement.
  • Solid understanding and proven experience developing API based code.
  • High level proficiency using relational databases.
  • Working knowledge of Object Relational Mapping tools
  • Able to effectively work with and communicate with other team members.
  • Able to integrate and apply feedback in a professional manner.
