The Non-AML Program and Project Management team supports the Wholesale KYC Operations (WKO) group which was set up to support JP Morgan’s Commercial Banking and Corporate & Investment Banking clients. The Program provides Process and System optimization to the WKO organization with all Non-AML requirements enabling them to execute a seamless onboarding experience for our clients.
- Partner closely with regional and global WKO & appropriate stakeholders to deliver Non-AML change initiatives globally, enable the firm to operate with maximum efficiently, in compliance with regulations and in new markets and products.
- Act as the conduit between local, regional Front Office Business, various Functional support groups, Core Compliance, Global Financial Crimes Compliance (GFCC) and WKO, with particular focus on regulatory changes that affects KYC and Client Onboarding.
- Face off with Front Office and WKO production stakeholders by initiating and shepherding WKO program changes while acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for various KYC / Onboarding operational processes and systems.
- This role will allow exposure to business process expansion, technology roll out and performance oversight for stability and governance of regulatory deliverables.
- The Project Manager will work alongside the existing Program team members based globally, with immediate team members in India, Singapore & Hong Kong.
- The individual will provide project management support in the execution of WKO APAC initiatives that include the enhancement of client experience and improvement of operational efficiency. With the exposure opportunity of end to end project life cycle, this role allows for the participation from initial planning phase to execution and to post implementation – allowing for the understanding and application of the key principles of project management to drive change.
Job responsibilities:
- Exercise analytical, collaboration and leadership skills to design and implement innovative solutions for major programs or projects which have impact across the organization, e.g. MiFID, Tax, FinSA
- Develop and maintain the WKO strategic change roadmap, execution projects and plans with refined status and risk & issue management metrics reporting logs.
- Communicate program status to senior WKO stakeholders (e.g. managers at Managing Director levels), articulate key challenges and issues and solicited support and guidance on way forward.
- Lead program / project work group members, from product development, technology, compliance, policy, control, production and business teams, in developing target processes and system functional changes that aligned with standard JPM client onboarding model, while complying with China AML / KYC data sharing restrictions.
- Align program / project priorities with global WKO strategic agenda
- Run disciplined meetings with targeted agenda and audience, fully documenting next actions and follow up accordingly
- Identify, document and communicate risks and dependencies affecting deliveries; drive their resolution
- Demonstrate effective controls around the introduction of change and or process improvements
- Take ownership and leadership in resolving conflicts throughout program / projects execution.
- Act as the primary point of contact and SME for all things WKO and regulatory KYC to facilitate efficient information sharing between various stakeholders such as GFCC, Technology, Legal, Sales, etc.
Required qualifications, skills and capabilities:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
- Minimum of 7 years of related Banking, Audit, Compliance, Project Management and Business process reengineering experience
- Familiarity with global AML and BSA regulatory best practices and specifically KYC expertise required
- Knowledge of Commercial Banking and Corporate and Investment Banking business model, client base, product set preferred
- Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent business writing and verbal communication skills with business level language fluency in English
- Strong ability to build relationships with and influence colleagues, business leaders and functional partners
- Approaches role with a client and user experience lens solving for changes in an end to end manner
- Understanding of relevant statutory and regulatory requirements within the region in relation to Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing to facilitate sustainable solutioning of processes. Regulatory engagement experience is a plus
- Ability to drive issue resolution, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to execute consistently on deliverables and communicate status updates and strategic direction
- Strong control and quality management skills; accuracy and attention to detail is vital
- Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
- Technical knowledge on user workflow or business rule tools such as PEGA, Signavio etc. is preferred.
